Terai region shrouded in fog; snowfall expected in high hills

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported a partial influence of westerly winds in Nepal at present.

The weather is predominantly clear, with hilly areas experiencing partial cloudiness across the country.

Meanwhile, the Madhesh-Terai region is shrouded in fog.

Later this afternoon, the weather in most hilly areas is expected to range from partly cloudy to mostly clear.

There’s a likelihood of light snowfall in some high-hill and Himalayan regions.

During the night, the hilly areas will be partly cloudy to mostly clear, while the rest of the country will experience similar conditions.

There’s a potential for light snowfall in select locations in the high hills and Himalayan areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Fog and mist are anticipated in most parts of the Terai, raising concerns about potential impacts on daily life, health, transportation, and air traffic.

The Division has urged people to take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the cold and adverse weather conditions.
