Constitutional compliance is a shared responsibility: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” said compliance with the Constitution and institutionalization of federal democratic republic was the responsibility of all State apparatuses and stakeholders.

Prime Minister Dahal said this at a discussion with the office-bearers of the Society of Former Justices at PM residence Baluwatar this morning.

At the meeting with Chairperson of the Society Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and other former justices, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the crucial role of ex-justices to promote constitutional compliance when some people and organizations are trying to foil social harmony in the country.

The PM also called for the ex-justices to keep vigil on the compliance of the constitution and laws in coming days as well while lauding their watch dog roles when there were assaults on the constitution and laws.

Noting that the persons bearing responsible positions of the State should not take decisions on whimsical opinions expressed on the social media, PM Dahal said decisions should be made in full compliance with the constitution and law.

According to the PM secretariat, the ex-justices recommended the PM to paly role to consolidate the existing system and enhance compliance with the constitution and laws.
