Economic reforms boost private sector’s confidence: Prime Minister Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ stated that the ongoing economic reforms have instilled confidence in the private sector. Speaking at the “Arghakhanchi Tourism Promotion Program for Economic Development, Tourism Promotion and Local Employment,” organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Arghakhanchi chapter in Sandhikharka on Monday, the Prime Minister highlighted the positive impact of gradual economic improvements.

President Paudel urges leaders for complete implementation of Constitution

President Ramchandra Poudel expressed his disappointment with the public’s dissatisfaction over the incomplete implementation of the Constitution and urged political leaders to take immediate action for its implementation. During a special program held at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas on the occasion of the Maghi festival, President Poudel addressed leaders and participants, emphasizing the need for a collective effort to achieve an inclusive federal democratic republic.

16 injured in Tundikhel stampede

Sixteen people were injured while trying to navigate through the dense crowd at the overcrowded Tundikhel in Kathmandu on Monday. According to Kathmandu police, the assembly of people at Tundikhel to celebrate the Maghi and Maghe Sankranti programs, separately organized by the Tharu and Magar communities, led to a stampede, resulting in sixteen injuries.

Melamchi water to be regularly distributed to Kathmanduites: PM

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ stated that the government has been making efforts to provide a safe and sustainable drinking water service to the growing population of the Kathmandu Valley. In his address at the inauguration of the Melamchi drinking water diversion and redistribution held at Singhadurbar this morning, PM Dahal mentioned that the second phase of Yangri and Larke rivers diversion would proceed with a specific action plan for the sustainable arrangement of drinking water.

NA election code of conduct to come into effect tomorrow

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the enforcement of the election code of conduct, effective from January 16, for the upcoming National Assembly election. The decision covers the period from January 16 to 26 and encompasses all citizens, agencies, and officials. According to the EC, Section 1 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2079, and Section 22 of the Election Commission Act will be applicable during this time frame, coinciding with the National Assembly election scheduled for January 25.

Dharan Mayor Hark Sampang padlocks Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office at BPKIHS

Amid escalating controversies at the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan, Mayor Hark Sampang has padlocked the office of the acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Prahlad Karki on Monday. Expressing concerns about the growing issues within the institute and the unaddressed demands of teachers and medical staff, Mayor Sampang visited the institute alone on Monday, riding a motorcycle. He locked the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s office and later proceeded to the municipal office.

PM Dahal inaugurates Melamchi Water Supply in Kathmandu

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda today initiated the resupply of Melamchi water in Kathmandu from the Prime Minister’s office at Singha Durbar. The inauguration took place with the symbolic opening of the public tap at Singha Durbar, officially commencing the water redistribution project. Following damages incurred by the Melamchi Drinking Water Project during last year’s rainy season, caused by floods and landslides in Sindhupalchok’s Melamchi River, the water distribution in Kathmandu has now resumed.
