One nabbed on allegation of frauds relating to foreign employment in America



KATHMANDU: Police apprehended a woman on charges of fraudulently promising to send unemployed people to America.

The accused Benju Mahat, 34 years old, from Budhanilkantha-6, Bhangal, Kathmandu was nabbed for enticing people and collecting money fraudulently.

According to reports, Mahat enticed Amar Bahadur Pun, promising to send him to America for foreign employment at a cost of NPR 5,000,000. She frauded NPR 2,350,000 and assured him that the latter would get NPR 400,000 as monthly salary upon reaching in America.

A team deployed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Mahat, who had been out of contact after collecting money from Pun, from Bhangal, Kathmandu.

The police sent Mahat to Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu for further investigation.
