KATHMANDU: Amidst a nationwide cool-down, the temperature in Kathmandu Valley is also on the decline.

Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini from the Weather Forecasting Division stated that the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley reached 4.5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today (Sunday).

Comparatively, at the same time on Saturday, the minimum temperature was slightly higher at 5.2 degrees Celsius. However, by 8:45 am, it further plummeted to 4.5 degrees Celsius.

The initial measurement today indicates a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius in Kathmandu Valley, suggesting a potential further decrease when reevaluated at 8:45 in the morning.

Simultaneously, the maximum temperature in Kathmandu Valley is also experiencing a downward trend.

Meteorologist Pudasaini forecasts today’s maximum temperature in the range of 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, compared to Saturday’s 17.5 degrees Celsius.

The term “minimum temperature” refers to the lowest temperature within 24 hours, measured by 8:45 am, while the “maximum temperature” is the highest within 24 hours, measured by 5:45 pm.

Pudasaini notes that in the morning, along with certain areas in the Terai region, Kathmandu Valley is witnessing a light breeze.

“Currently, the visibility of Kathmandu Valley is 4 km,” he states, “but it is expected to vanish in the next 2/3 hours.”

However, there is a possibility of sunshine in Kathmandu Valley later in the day.
