Spotted tiger found in Besisahar, released into forest



LAMJUNG: A tiger has been found at Besisahar Municipality-8 in Lamjung.

Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Lamjung, Thaneswor Chapai, said that the tiger was found hiding under the banana trees of Dal Bahadur Poudel of Besisahar-8 on Sunday.

He said that the police reached the spot acting on a tip off about the entry of the jungle cat in the area and efforts made by the staff of the Division Forest Office, Lamjung to control the tiger, but failed for the first time.

Forester of the Division Office, Guna Bahadur Glan, took control the tiger with the help of sacks.

Santosh Khanal, chief of the Division Forest Office, said the tiger was taken under control and then released to the forest.

He said, “The beast may have come here in search of food. The tiger was released in to the forest without identifying its sex”.
