Economic prosperity is government’s top priority: Minister Sharma

BIRATNAGAR: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that good-governance, economic prosperity and prompt service delivery were the key priorities of the current government.

At a news conference organized by Press Centre, Morang chapter on Sunday, Minister Sharma said the government systematically advanced the tasks to ensure good-governance by probing into the cases of gold smuggling, Lalita Niwas scam and others. Sharma added that the loan sharks are being punished by drafting the laws.

Minister Sharma, who is also the government spokesperson, stated that the wrongdoers will be punished irrespective of their post and position, adding that no one was above the law.

An independent probe panel has been formed to explore the questions raised on the share deal of Ncell and the government cannot go against the existing legal provisions.

This year, the government distributed school textbooks, and supplied chemical fertilizers and seeds in time and worked for the cause of the country and people, according to Minister Sharma.

She also shared that the government is working to draft the Broadcasting Act in line with the Public Service Broadcasting (PSB).
