PATAN: Remembering the late leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, affectionately known as ‘Kisunji’ among his peers, Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba hailed him as a ‘self-sacrificing personality’.

During a discussion organized at the NC central office to mark the 100th birth anniversary of the late NC leader and former Prime Minister, Deuba lauded Bhattarai, noting his perpetual selflessness.

Recalling their first encounter in Nakkhu jail, Deuba spoke of Bhattarai’s unwavering sense of honor, lack of worry, and selfless nature, highlighting the altruism prevalent in those times when political leaders were incarcerated for advocating democracy.

Deuba took the opportunity to recognize Bhattarai’s instrumental role in the formulation of the 1990 Constitution, emphasizing its acceptance at both the monarchical and citizenry levels.

He proposed delving deeper into Bhattarai’s persona and documenting these findings for posterity.
