BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Koshi Province Kedar Karki has announced plans to streamline procedures and deploy interpreters within various government offices, including hospitals, throughout the Koshi Province.
This commitment comes in response to a memorandum submitted by the National Deaf Federation of Nepal, Koshi, to Chief Minister Karki.
Following the demand that interpreters stationed in hospitals under the provincial government be mobilized under the District Deaf Association, Chief Minister Karki pledged to extend the presence of interpreters to cover all public programs, including those conducted in government offices within the province.
Chief Minister Karki, addressing the occasion, highlighted his role as a guardian by allocating budgetary provisions for the deaf community in the recently passed replacement bill.
He further emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing the professional skills of interpreters, underlining its commitment to involve the Federation in formulating necessary policy rules for the initiative.
