Weather: Westerly winds likely to bring rain and snow

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that a low-pressure area over India’s Uttar Pradesh, coupled with the influence of westerly winds, is currently affecting the country.

Currently, scattered to light rain is observed in some areas of Lumbini and Gandaki provinces.

Additionally, light snowfall is reported in isolated spots in Gandaki, Karnali, and the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Sudurpaschim Province.

The Division had forecasted the possibility of light rain in some parts of the country’s hilly areas in the afternoon.

Similarly, there is a chance of snowfall in a few places in the mountainous and Himalayan regions.

Partial to normal weather is expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, while the rest of the region will experience clear conditions.

Tonight, there is a likelihood of light snowfall in some high hills and Himalayan areas, including Koshi Province.

As temperatures drop across the country amid rain and snowfall, the Weather Forecasting Division has urged people to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential impacts.
