Internet bill up by 13%

KATHMANDU: Internet service providers (ISP) have hiked Internet bill by 13 percent effective from Wednesday.

The ISPs have increased the internet bill saying that they have to bear economic burden since the government did not implement the deal sealed last last year. With this hike, the bill of Internet has gone up by 13 percent.

“The government, last year, had agreed to waive 50 percent tax of telecommunications service charge while the remaining 50 percent charge would be borne by the telecommunications itself according to the agreement. However, the government did not implement this agreement which forced us to hike the Internet charge, said Bhoj Raj Bhatta, chairman of ISPs.
