Lawmaker Karki departs for Jajarkot with medical team



KATHMANDU: Dr. Tosima Karki, a Member of the House of Representatives, has set out for the earthquake-affected area accompanied by a team of healthcare professionals.

In a Facebook post, Lawmaker Karki stated that she is heading to Jajarkot to facilitate urgent medical treatment in the affected region. “We will promptly organize emergency medical procedures and treatment,” she affirmed.

Tosima’s team comprises orthopedic specialists, anesthesiologists, general practitioners, and medical officers. She will be traveling to Surkhet via Nepalgunj, along with doctors from the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences.

Dr. Karki noted that the expert team will be deployed to Jajarkot. “Additional doctors from the Bheri region will also join us, along with relief supplies,” she added.

“Some colleagues have already departed by road. We will prepare for emergency medical procedures and treatment on-site, along with the provision of relief supplies. I extend my gratitude to all those supporting us,” MP Karki further expressed. She also appealed for political differences to be set aside during this emergency, emphasizing the importance of pooling expertise and resources to assist one another.
