KATHMANDU: CPN-UML, the main opposition party, is hosting a tea reception today.
Initially planned for Tuesday, the tea party was rescheduled to accommodate UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ address to the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on the same day.
The tea party program is set to start at 12:30 p.m. at the party’s central office in Chyasal in Lalitpur.
Invitations have been extended to various dignitaries, including the Prime Minister, Ministers, MPs, heads of major political parties, leaders, heads of constitutional bodies, ambassadors, heads of security agencies, and officials.
Celebrating the festive season of Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat, Chhath, Eid, Lhosar, and others, political parties traditionally host annual tea receptions as a means of exchanging greetings.
Notably, the ruling party Nepali Congress recently organized a tea party on the auspicious occasion of Kojagrat Purnima on October 28.
