UAE sets 141-run target for Nepal in tri-nation T20 series



KATHMANDU: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has set Nepal a target of 141 runs to chase in the tri-nation T20 series.

The match took place at Mulpani Ground, and after Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl, UAE, batting first, managed to accumulate 140 runs while losing 7 wickets within their allotted 20 overs.

Basil Hameed played a crucial role for UAE, scoring a well-deserved half-century with 51 runs, including 1 four and 4 sixes off 38 balls, before being dismissed by Abinash Bohara.

UAE’s opening batsman, Khalid Shah, was caught by Rohit Poudel in the very first over, courtesy of Sompal Kami’s bowling.

Alisan Sharafu was also caught by Kushal Bhurtel for 6 runs off Karan KC’s bowling in the fourth over.

Gulsan Jha proved to be a valuable asset for Nepal, claiming two wickets. He successfully dismissed UAE captain Mohammad Wasim, who scored 17 runs, and Asif Khan, who contributed 15 runs to the total.

Karan KC took three wickets for Nepal, conceding 19 runs in his 4-over spell. Additionally, Abinash and Sompal Kami each managed to secure one wicket.

In the midst of this thrilling encounter, Karan KC made a notable contribution with the bat, amassing 32 runs for Nepal and, in the first ball of the 17th over, dismissing Ali Naseer, securing the fifth wicket for Nepal.

As the tri-nation T20 series continues, Nepal is scheduled to face Hong Kong in their upcoming match.
