KATHMANDU: The Nepal Airlines plane airlifted 250 Nepali citizens from Israel to Kathmandu.
This operation was launched to rescue Nepalis stranded in Israel due to ongoing conflict in Israel.
The journey began at Israel’s bustling Ben Gurion Airport, as a Nepal Airlines plane, chartered for the mission, took flight for Kathmandu.
The aircraft is anticipated to touch down at Tribhuvan International Airport at approximately 9:30 PM tonight.
The initiative in Israel was taken under the leadership of Foreign Minister NP Saud, who coordinated with the airline company to facilitate the evacuation.
The flight was expertly captained by Captain Shravan Rizal, representing the Nepal Air Service Corporation.
This endeavor comes in response to a tragic incident involving the Palestinian Hamas group in Israel, where numerous Nepalis lost their lives.
As a response to the crisis, the Nepali government promptly launched an online application process to assist those eager to return to Nepal.
Out of the many applicants, 250 Nepalis were chosen for evacuation, and their return to Nepal was made possible by the government’s determined efforts on Thursday.
