Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Activist E’s representatives initiate talks



KATHMANDU: After eight consecutive days of steadfast protest demanding accountability, negotiations talks have finally commenced between a group of social activists and representatives from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

The discussions between Activist Group E, which has been advocating for civil accountability, and the Metropolitan Municipality officially began at 2 o’clock. Each side has dispatched a delegation of five individuals to participate in the talks.

According to Surendra Bajgain, the press facilitator for Mayor Balendra Shah, the Metropolitan City’s team comprises five members, including two ward chairmen and the head of the law department from the mayor’s secretariat.

On the other side, Activist Group E is represented by a team of five, including Govind Narayan Timilsina and Sanjay Adhikari, who serve as representatives of pavement traders. Notably, both Mayor Balendra Shah and Activist E did not take part in the initial negotiations.
