Express Bus Service from Suryavinayak to Ratnapark launched

KATHMANDU: An “Express Bus Service” connecting Suryabinayak of Bhaktaour to Ratnapark in Kathmandu has been launched today.

Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, inaugurated the service on the occasion of Constitution Day on Wednesday.

This service is set to drastically reduce travel time between Suryabinayak and Ratnapark, completing the journey in just 45 minutes, compared to over an hour for a regular bus.

To ensure seamless travel, traffic police will facilitate non-stop operation at key points such as Maitighar, Koteshwar, and Jadibuti, allowing express buses to avoid traffic congestion.

The fare for the Ratnapark-Suryabinayak express bus service will remain the same as regular public buses, making it an affordable option for commuters.

The service is a collaborative effort between the government and local businessmen, with 25 buses capable of accommodating around 38 passengers each being deployed for the operation.

The introduction of the service aims to address the traffic congestion issues in Kathmandu Valley during peak office hours.

Starting tomorrow, the service will run during morning and evening office hours, specifically from 9 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm.
