Metropolis slaps Rs 200,000 fine on Tiptop Sweet Shop for selling subpar sweets



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has imposed a hefty fine of Rs 200,000 on the Tiptop Sweet Shop, located in Nagal, Kathmandu, for vending substandard sweets.

Metro Police Chief Rajunath Pandey disclosed that the metropolis took decisive action against the Tiptop Sweet Shop after discovering its sale of inferior-quality confectionery.

The crackdown followed a complaint regarding the sale of deteriorated sweets at the said establishment, as Pandey recounted, “Last night, a customer there complained to us that spoiled sweets were sold.”

Furthermore, the shop has been instructed to adhere to the established standards pertaining to the quality of food products.
