KATHMANDU: Former Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha has said Nepali women now need education and equal justice.

At a program organized on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Bhimsengola-based Modern Kanya Multiple College here today, the former Chief Justice mentioned, “Mothers of every house are university irrespective of whether or not they are educated. Not only the family, the entire nation should get benefits from them.”

Stating that without education, there would not be access to health, employment, capacity building, political participation, and all dimensions of life, he pointed out the need for the remarkable leadership role of women in all bodies of the state.

Similarly, Constituent Assembly member Nilambar Acharya expressed the view that Nepali women were lagging behind not because of the lack of efficacy but due to the lack of opportunity and encouragement.

He shared, “The college has been playing a significant role in providing education to women. It is a matter of pride to impart education contributing to the motherland while back at home.”

Similarly, College Chairperson and Principal Sabin Pokharel said it would be difficult to create a good and capable generation without education that teaches people to be proud of their culture.

On the occasion, former Chief Justice Shrestha and former Ambassador Acharya were honored. Similarly ‘Senior Citizen Honor’ was conferred on Gunaraj Kafle. Former Chief Justice Shrestha unveiled the emblem of 17th anniversary of the college and the college’s annual mouthpiece ‘Anamika’.
