KATHMANDU: Gagan Thapa, General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), strongly condemned Wednesday’s attack on his party’s co-general secretary, Mahendra Yadav.

During a special session of the House of Representatives on Thursday, Thapa expressed his protest, asserting that the authorities must take immediate action to address the attack on Yadav.

“I would like to bring to the government’s attention the incident that occurred on Wednesday and urge them to launch a thorough investigation into the matter,” Thapa stated.

Additionally, as a lawmaker, Thapa called upon the government to address the pressing concerns related to peace and security, posing a pointed question to the Home Minister.

“I would like to pose a question to the Home Minister: Is it no longer safe for us to walk alone in Kathmandu?” he inquired.
