Transformation campaign will assure people of the reliability of Maoist Center: Chairman Dahal

CPN-Maoist Center Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed the Maoist Center would become a reliable party of the people through the transformation campaign.

The party could become strong and revolutionary by learning from past mistakes, he said while inaugurating the three-month special transformation campaign at the party’s headquarters, Perisdanda today.

Stating that people had special intimacies, expectations, and some dissatisfaction with the party, Chairman Dahal claimed that the government led by the party had instilled hope of changes in the people.

People are enraged and restless: Gagan Thapa

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said Nepali people were undergoing restlessness and rage, so only a changed Congress can address their issues.

Addressing a municipal conference of the NC Mechinagar committee at Dhulabari in the district today, General Secretary Thapa viewed wrong activities of political leaderships are to blame for society losing confidence.

NC must change itself to restore public trust in politics and party, he stressed.

If found involved in gold smuggling, govt will take action against Maoist Center Vice Chair Mahara: DPM Shrestha

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has assured that if CPN-Maoist Center Vice Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara is found involved in the 9 kg gold smuggling case, the government would take action against him as well.

Inaugurating a special campaign launched by the Maoist Center in Lalitpur on Saturday, also a prominent leader of the party DPM Shrestha said that Mahara will not be spared just because he is a Maoist leader provided found guilty of smuggling.

Govt transfers 48 Superintendents of Police

Police Headquarters has transferred 48 Superintendents of Police (SP).

The Human Resource Development Department of Nepal Police transferred the SPs completing their term in the area.

Meanwhile, along with the transfer, distict heads of 14 districts have also been changed.

Kaji Kumar Acharya has been transferred to West Nawalparasi, Narahari Regmi to East Nawalparasi, Gajusiddhi Bajracharya to Saptari, Navratna Paudel to Kapilvastu and Bipin Regmi to Sunsari district.

Share market of the week: NEPSE continues to drop

The NEPSE indicator that measures share transactions in the stock market has witnessed a decreasing trend this week.

In the four transaction days in the week, the share market continued to fall in three days and increased in a day.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange Ltd, the total transaction recorded was over Rs 4 billion 246.5 million in four days this week.

On the first day of the week on Sunday, the NEPSE dropped to 1,993.38 points with a fall of 54 points. The share transaction amounted to Rs 1 billion 262.7 million in the market on the first day.
