One held with homemade pistols in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR: Police last night apprehended a person along with two homemade pistols and a round of bullet from Lokanthali of Madhyapur municipality in the district.

Police Range Bhaktapur’s superintendent of police Prajit KC said Junge Majhi, 40, who originally hails from Balaiya municipality in Udayapur and currently resides in Lokanthali was arrested by a patrol team from the Police Sector, Balkot over his suspicious activities on the street.

During the preliminary interrogation, it was assessed that he and his accomplice Aswin Dahal of around 30 years of age had a plan for looting.

Dahal, however, managed to evade the arrest and police are searching for him.

Similarly, in a separate incident Purna Bahadur Khasu, 24, from Babai rural municipality-2 in Dang was arrested while attempting to steal cash from the Nabil Bank’s ATM booth at Bhateko Pati of Kamal Binayak of Bhaktapur municipality-10. He was arrested at around 3:00 am today.

Likewise, a bus was torched at Chardobato of Madhyapur Thimi municipality-4 in the district at around 3:30 am today.

The passenger bus (Ba 4 Kha 6669) was parked on the roadside when the incident occurred.

Investigation into the incident is underway and police are trying to identify people responsible for the arson.
