KATHMANDU: Former President of Nepal AOTS Alumni Society, Ms. Amira Dali, was awarded the 2023 Spring Imperial Decoration, Order of Japan (Order of Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays).

Japan’s Ambassador to Nepal, KIKUTA Yutaka, presented the accolade on August 9 in recognition of Ms. Dali’s efforts in strengthening bilateral ties between Japan and Nepal, particularly in economics and business.

Ms. Dali’s leadership at the Nepal AOTS Alumni Society, a non-profit organization of ex-trainees under the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), played a pivotal role. Her work in Japan and Nepal’s economic cooperation, as well as grassroots support through Love Green Nepal, showcased her commitment.

The Japanese Imperial Decorations are granted twice yearly, mirroring honors for Japanese nationals. The Order of the Rising Sun, awarded to foreign individuals for remarkable contributions, underscores Ms. Dali’s efforts in promoting international understanding and collaboration.
