RID raids Chinese national’s residence in Lazimpat in connection with gold smuggling case

KATHMANDU: The Revenue Investigation Department (RID) conducted a raid on a house rented by a Chinese citizen in Lazimpat as part of an ongoing gold smuggling investigation.

A dedicated team from the RID searched the residence of Chinese national Jeyung Lyn, who was apprehended at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The raid took place in Lazimpat based on suspicions that crucial documents and materials related to the case could be found there.

Although several boxes were recovered during the operation, no gold was located at the premises.

As a precautionary measure, the Department has sealed off the house pending further investigation.
