UAE sets 182 runs target against Nepal, Sandeep and Karan take 3 wickets each



KATHMANDU: UAE has given Nepal a target of 182 runs in the semi-final playoff for seventh place under the ICC World Cup qualifiers.

After losing the toss, UAE was put in charge of batting and added 181 runs losing all wickets in 46.5 overs.

Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took 3 wickets each. Pratis JC, Gulsan Jha, and Dipendra Singh Airee took one wicket each.

Sandeep spent only 23 runs in 10 overs. He retained 3 maidens. Karan spent 36 runs in 8.5 overs.

Captain Intreya Arvind scored the highest 44 runs for UAE. Rohan Mustafa scored 35 runs, Basil Hamid scored 29 runs and wicketkeeper Aryans Sharma scored 28 runs.

UAE, who lost the first wicket without scoring a run, shared a partnership of 64 runs for the second wicket. At a loss of 4 wickets for 97 runs, Rohan Mustafa and Basil Hamid shared a partnership of 58 runs for the fifth wicket.

UAE lost the last 6 wickets for 26 runs.
