World Cup Qualifiers: Good start for Nepal against Zimbabwe



KATHMANDU:  Nepal, who lost the toss and batted first in their first match against Zimbabwe as part of the World Cup qualifiers, has made a good start.

In the beginning, Nepal has made a good opening. Zimbabwe captain Craig Irvine won the toss and decided to field first, and Nepal came into bat first.

Openers Kushal Bhurtel remains unbeaten with 92 runs off 85 balls while another opener Aasif Sheikh is supporting him with 55 runs off 83 balls.

Nepal is playing by scoring 154 runs at the end of 28 overs. Kushal narrowly avoided being caught out while scoring 2 runs.

In their first match against a Test nation, Nepal will want to get off to a good start by defeating Zimbabwe. Nepal is 15th and Zimbabwe 11th in ODI world rankings.

As a List ‘A’ nation, Nepal played against Zimbabwe in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. Nepal was defeated in that match.
