Govt committed to resolving Melamchi project-related problems: PM Dahal
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed commitment to take initiatives to resolve problems related to Melamchi Drinking Water Project.
Prime Minister Dahal, who arrived at the intake area located at Ambathan of Helambu rural municipality-1 in Sindhupalchowk today for an onsite visit to the Melamchi Drinking Water Project, mentioned that he would carry out homework to bring additional water from Yangri and Larke rivulets.

Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) Chairman Rajendra Malla remarked that despite having the potential to export worth Rs 1 trillion, the country has not been able to export them due to a lack of branding.

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has blamed the ruling coalition for the poor condition of the national economy and said that the country’s economy is declining due to them (the ruling coalition).
Addressing the party entry program held at the UML’s central office on Saturday, Chairman Oli complained that the ruling coalition was there only for politics and they (the coalition) have no plans to boost the economy.
JSP holding its Central Committee meeting on June 24
The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has called its central committee meeting on June 24.
Purna Basnet, Head of the Central Publicity Department, said that the meeting has been called to discuss the suggestions sent by the party’s various committees and organizations and incorporate them into the party’s statute.
As many as 7,636 Nepali Army personnel stands prepared for disaster management
A total of 7,636 Nepali Army personnel have been kept in a ready position for disaster management.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) said a total of 2,125 Nepal Police personnel and 1,903 Armed Police Force personnel would be deployed for disaster risk management.
Another 74 rescue divers of the APF, Nepal are also kept in the ready position, it said.
School is a peace zone, violators will be prosecuted: Mayor Balen Shah
Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has warned that action will be taken against the people who induce the closure of the schools as a school is a peace zone.
Responding to the public school staff council’s appeal for the indefinite school closure from Sunday, Mayor Shah reminded them that the prevalent laws and by-laws do not allow the closure of the school.
