Maoist Center denies financial irregularities in PLA cantonments

The ruling Maoist Centre has denied any financial irregularities in the payment of the then combatants of the Maoist People’s Liberation Army and other managerial works in the cantonments. The party said the Office of the Auditor General had already cleared the matter and there were no irregularities in the budget meant for the supervision and management of ex-Maoist armies took place in the presence of government bodies.

The police failed to submit the investigation report to the District Prosecutor’s Office Kathmandu on the fake Bhutanese refugee scam today. The District Police Range Kathmandu was supposed to submit the report prepared following a two-month-long investigation on Sunday.

MWFC recommends minimum Rs 34,125 in wages for journalists

The Minimum Wages Fixation Committee (MWFC) has recommended a minimum of Rs 34,125 as the monthly wage for working journalists. A team including the MWFC chairperson Sangita Khadka today met with Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma and submitted a report putting forth the demand. At present, the minimum monthly wage for journalists is Rs 24,600.
