Buddha’s philosophy needs to be followed: NC President Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the teachings of Lord Buddha — the propounder of Buddhist philosophy, and tolerance and the pioneer of world peace–should be followed by heart, mind and action.

In a message on the occasion of the 2567th Buddha Jayanti and Ubhauli Parva of Kirat community today, President Deuba has wished for peace in the country and liberation from all sorts of injustice, suppression and exploitations.

Likewise, Deuba has wished for happiness, peace, prosperity and continued process to all Nepalis on this occasion.

“Overall development in the country is not possible without lasting peace,” Deuba added.

The full moon day of Nepali month Baisakh coincides with the day when Lord Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvan (passing away) took place, Deuba said in his message that this day has been inspiring all to move towards peace, non-violence, compassion, goodwill, and self-realization since ancient time.
