KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has been receiving treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi.

President’s personal secretariat said his health was improving gradually as per doctors involved in his treatment.

However, some reports on President’s health tests are still awaited, according to President’s Press Advisor, Kiran Pokharel.

“President Paudel has been receiving treatment at an Indian hospital, AIIMS, as per doctors’ suggestions after his condition did not improve despite treatment at TU Teaching Hospital,” Pokharel added.

Moreover, in the press statement, Press Advisor Pokhrel mentioned that President Paudel was for the treatment within the country.

However, he was ready to go to India for treatment after the doctors’ team attending him, and high-level political leaders including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal made a special request for it.

The press release stated that the secretariat was concerned over misleading information spread on social media, intending to drag the institution of the President into controversy.

There are separate and clear provisions in Act on Remuneration and Incentives to President and Vice President, 2074 regarding the foreign visit and treatment.

The secretariat expressed worry over fake and misleading information spread on daily allowance and incentives that President’s family members receive.

It also believed that all Nepali brothers and sisters would not be swayed by such fabricated information.
