Number of people seeking ayurvedic medication increasing in Kavrepalanchowk

KAVREPALCHOWK: The number of people seeking ayurvedic medication is found increasing at the District Ayurveda Health Centre, Banepa over the years.

People’s liking for ayurvedic medical treatment is found growing especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Centre, 50 thousand and 100 people availed of the ayurvedic medical services provided at the ayurveda health service centres at various local levels in the district in fiscal year 2022/23.

The number of people taking the ayurvedic health services was 42 thousand and 38 in fiscal year 2021/22.

Centre’s chief Dr Basamwadamba Kaudinyayani said the number of people seeking ayurvedic medical treatment has been growing each year in the district.

Kaudinyayani added that the number of people visiting the ayurveda health centres will likely increase this year by more than double than that of the previous year.

According to her, so far 15 thousand people have availed of the services at the Banepa Service Centre alone in the current fiscal year.

Dr Kaudinyayani shared that ayurveda medical treatment service is provided at the District Health Centre Banepa, Dhulikhel Ayurveda Dispensary, the ayurveda centres at Mangaltar, Dapcha and Baluwa, the Nagarik Aarogya Kendra Bhumlu, Bethanchok, Mandandeupur and Panauti.

Meanwhile, a 5-bed capacity Ayurveda Hospital is being constructed at Banepa and the Ministry of Health and Population has earmarked Rs 50 million for this purpose.

Initially, the Hospital will start its services from 25-bed facility and will gradually upgraded to 50-bed facility.

Banepa Municipality mayor Shanti Ratna Shakya said the municipality will manage the land plot for building the Ayurveda Hospital.
