Nepal receives Rs 138 billion foreign aid commitment in eight months

The Government of Nepal has received commitments for foreign aid amounting to over Rs 138.5 billion as of mid-March in the current fiscal year 2022/23. According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Nepal received commitments for grants equivalent to Rs 24.56 billion while Rs 114 billion foreign loan from different bilateral and multilateral development partners in the last eight months.

Work underway to form socialist force: Dr. Baburam Bhattarai

Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that he is in favor of making a socialist force by including the communist political parties in the country. Talking to the media persons in Birendranagar on Saturday, he shared that a concept has been projected to constitute the socialist force by incorporating the CPN (Maoist Centre) and other communist parties as well.

Nepal concludes scheduled elections

The country has recently marked the conclusion of all scheduled elections in a year with the conduction of the vice presidential election on 17 March 2023 lately. Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav has been elected Vice President of the country through the latest poll. The local poll held on 13 May 2022 was followed by simultaneous elections to the members of the House of Representatives and Province Assembly on 20 November 20 2022 . The presidential election was held on 9 March 2023, through which Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Paudel was elected the third President of the country. On 8 February 2023, a by-election was held to elect a National Assembly member from Lumbin Province.
