Suing incumbent PM is part of plot to sideline Maoist Center: Former PM Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) and former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has commented that suing the incumbent Prime Minister (PM) is part of the plot to sideline the CPN-Maoist Center.

Speaking at an interaction program on ‘People’s War, Contribution of Martyrs and Missing Warriors and Leadership Responsibilities’ organized by Martyrs and Missing Warriors Descendants Foundation in Kathmandu on Sunday, the Former Prime Minister said that the attempts to sue the incumbent premier indicate conspiracy is being hatched at the background.

“There has been an attempt to criminalize the Maoist people’s war.  There is no reason to sue a sitting Prime Minister. Arresting the incumbent Prime Minister on the basis of what he said three years ago in a program smells foul,” Dr. Bhattarai said, adding, “It’s high time to form like-minded parties and people to get united under one party. If that happens, we can build an invincible power in Nepal. It brings change, fulfills the dreams of our martyrs.”

He mentioned that it will be beneficial for the country and the people if everyone realizes their mistakes and weaknesses and moves forward.
