PM Dahal and UML Chair Oli hold one-on-one meeting at Baluwatar

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda are holding a one-on-one meeting at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar. The two leaders are holding what has been dubbed as “crucial talks” at a time when the two ruling parties – Maoist Center and CPN-UML – are at odds on the issue of electing the country’s President.

Half-yearly review: Trade deficit hits 825 billion in six months

Nepal’s total trade deficit has crossed Rs 825 billion 730 million in the half-yearly review period of the current Fiscal Year 2022/23. The statistics published by the Department of Customs today shows that Nepal’s foreign trade was equivalent to total Rs 1 trillion 12 billion 597 million 600 thousand until February 12.

Shuklaphanta Festival kicks off in Kanchanpur

The Shuklaphanta Festival has kicked off in Kanchanpur district from today in a bid to attract as many as tourists in the Shuklaphanta National Park. Fresh earthquake strikes Bajura

An earthquake has struck Bajura at 1.46 pm today, nearly a month after a 5.9-magnitude tremor occurred on January 24. The Seismological Research and Measurement Centre, Surkhet said the tremor today measured 5.2 on the Richter scale with its epicentre at Bichchhya of Himali Rural Municipality in the district.

Over 64,000 obtain work permits in last one month

More than 64,000 Nepalis obtained work permit to go abroad for employment in one month (mid-January to mid-February, 2023). According to the Department of Foreign Employment, a total of 64,284 people, including 58,447 men and 5,837 women, obtained work permits for foreign employment.
