NRB instructs banks to provide service today



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has instructed all banks to open today and provide service to the people today (Falgun 1) even though it is a public holiday.

The government has announced Falgun 1 (February 13) as a public holiday to commemorate the “People’s War Day”.

Even though the government has given a holiday, the Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed all banks to provide essential banking services including cash transactions, and cheque clearing, among others.

Issuing a notice, the NRB has asked banks to provide services by keeping the necessary departments and offices of banks and financial institutions open from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm on Monday.
