Over 500 new enterprises registered in six months



JHAPA: More than 500 new enterprises were registered in Jhapa district in six months of the current fiscal year 2022/23.

Acting Chief of the Office of the Cottage and Small Industries, Jhapa, Prem Prasad Sapkota, said altogether 505 enterprises were registered within December 14, 2022.

More than Rs 1.31 billion was invested to establish the enterprises. The district has recorded the highest number of the firms based on agriculture and forest.

Of the new registered enterprises, around 44 per cent (222 enterprises) are related to agro and forest.

Similarly, 79 production related industries, 204 service-related industries were established in the district in six months.

A total of 107 firms were registered in the first month of current fiscal year, 144 in the second month, 53 in the third month, 49 in the fourth month, 7 in the fifth month and 75 in the six months, according to the Office.

Around 1,289 people would get employment after the operation of the enterprises.

The Office collected Rs 2 million revenue from the registration of the industries.
