KATHMANDU: Former Chief Secretary Balram Singh Malla passed away on Tuesday morning. He was 78.
kidney cancer-ridden since long, Malla died at 3:15 am while undergoing treatment at Mediciti Hospital, Lalitpur, said deceased’s brother Rajuman Singh Malla. Born in Biratnagar and currently living in Valley Hams Colony in Lalitpur, Malla had served as chief secretary from 2053 to 2056.
Prior to this, he also served as the secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Tourism Ministry and Law Ministry. Malla was appointed as Nepali Ambassador to Germany.
Malla is survived by wife, a son and three daughters. Last rites of Malla were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today.
