KATHMANDU: The government of Japan will offer decoration to senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel.
The Japanese Embassy is conferring ‘Grand Cordon of Order of the Rising Sun’ on Poudel by organising a special program today.
The decoration was announced on April 29, 2020. Leader Poudel will be honoured for his contribution to having activated the contacts between parliamentarians of Nepal and Japan as well as strengthening the relations between both countries, it has been said.
The Nepal-Japan Friendly Parliamentary League was established in 1999 on the initiatives of leader Paudel.
He also served as the first chair of the League until 2017. He actively involved in the promotion of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The honour will be handed to the personalities for their contribution in promotion of political, diplomatic, research, education, medical and social welfare, economic, industry, culture and sports between the two countries.
