HoR, Bagmati Province Assembly to have 52 members from Kathmandu district



KATHMANDU: As many as 52 lawmakers from Kathmandu district will be represented in the House of Representatives and the Bagmati Provincial Assembly.

With the Election Commission announcing the final list of proportional representation members, a total of 52 parliamentarians from Kathmandu will be represented in the HoR and the Provincial Assembly.

The Kathmandu district has a total of 30 electoral constituencies, including 10 in HoR and 20 in the provincial assembly.

Three members have been elected to the HoR from Nepali Congress, two from CPN-UML, and three from the Rastriya Swatantra Party from Kathmandu district.

With this, as many as 18 members will be represented to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu district.

Meanwhile, 20 members from the Kathmandu district will be represented at the HoR under the PR category.

Under the PR system, Nepali Congress has 6 members, UML 4, Unified Socialist 1, RPP 2 people and Hamro Nepali Party has one members.

However, the Maoist Center failed to win a single seat to the HoR from Kathmandu under the first-past-the-post category.
