Biplav-called band partially affects capital

KATHMANDU: Band called by Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav has partially affected the Kathmandu Valley. Few motorcycles and buses are plying on the road. Security has been tightened with the police personnel deployed in different junctions in the capital.

The number of vehicles are seen less compared to the normal days and are overcrowded. The government has urged the transport entrepreneurs to operate the vehicles without fear.

Biplav outfit has called a band today to protest the killing of Kumar Paudel, Sarlahi district in-charge associated with the outfit on Thursday afternoon. The government said that Paudel was killed in an exchange of fire while the outfit maintains that Paudel was murdered intentionally. The Home Ministry has formed an investigation team to look into the case.
