KVDA orders removal of unauthorized structures

The Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has ordered the removal of the unauthorized structures constructed encroaching upon the public, recovered, unregistered land and on land on the bank of rivers as per the standard.

The Authority has given 35 days for removing such structures. The KVDA, through a notice it issued today, ordered removing the illegal structures for facilitating the reconstruction, development and expansion of the cities in the Valley and for making it systematic.

UML’s Chaudhary clinches HoR seat in Sunsari-3

CPN-UML’s Bhagawati Chaudhary has clinched the House of Representatives (HoR) seat in Sunsari electoral constituency number 3.

As per the final vote-count results of the HoR elections in this constituency declared last night, Chaudhary secured 40,788 votes.

NC’s Narayan Khadka elected from Udayapur-1

Nepali Congress leader Dr. Narayan Khadka, who is currently the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has been elected for the fourth time to the House of Representatives from Udayapur Constituency-1. While Khadka got 31,270 votes, his closest competitor, Manju Kumari Chaudhary of CPN-UML got 28,891 votes.

Parties fail to garner majority in Provincial Assemblies

No party taking part in the recently-concluded election got majority in the provincial assembly.

The Nepali Congress has won a total of 105 seats including 15 seats in Province 1, 13 in Madhesh Province, 24 in Bagmati, 16 in Gandaki, 17 in Lumbini, 9 in Karnali and 11 in Sudhurpaschhim Province.

Kathmanduites to get Melamchi water by December 13

Minister for Water Supply Umakanta Chaudhary has assured that the Kathmandu citizens will get the Melamchi water regularly by December 13.

Minister Chaudhary made this statement in course of taking stock about the progress of the project at the origin of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project -Ambathan- on Wednesday.

An action-plan was made for the diversion of the water for a long-term, he informed.

Syangja farmers elated with increase in orange production

Orange production has increased in Syangja this year. The district produced 22,500 metric tonnes orange this year, the Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Syangja stated.

NEPSE declines by 3.51 points Wednesday, transaction amount shrinks

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures the securities secondary market, decreased by 3.51 points on Wednesday. Compared to Tuesday, the NEPSE index decreased by 0.18 percent and stopped at 1949.85 points.

In recent days, the transaction amount has also decreased. Compared to Tuesday, the transaction amount has decreased by 114.3 million rupees. The shares worth 1.49 billion rupees were traded on Monday. Similarly, shares worth 957 million rupees were traded on Tuesday.
