Unified Socialist rules out possibility of left-wing parties’ govt

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Unified Socialist, Madhav Kumar Nepal, ruled out the possibility of left-wing parties forming a new government in the current situation.

Party Spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada stated they will review the election’s results and party’s performance by convening the meetings of the party standing committee, central committee and district committees.

He added that the party will decide on its future course of action only after considering the other factors such as parliamentary mathematics, among other issues.

Although the election results were not satisfactory to the party, the party decided that the achievements secured by the dent of coalition should be protected and should collaborate as per the sentiments of the coalition.

Meanwhile, the party said it is yet to decide whether or not it will join the new government as the final election results were yet to come.

“The equation of the parliamentarians could be up and down based on the number of seats secured by the political parties under the Proportional Representation (PR) system,” he said.
