Kathmandu Mayor Balen objects UML Chair’s harsh comments against metro’s activities

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has objected to CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli’s aggressive comments against the metropolis’ attempts to evacuate the squatters settlement on the river banks in Kathmandu.

Responding to the UML chairman’s objection to the metropolitan city’s attempts to vacate the land occupied by the squatters, Balen asked the three times Prime Minister Oli to be reflective on his attempts to resolve the squatters’ problems during his premiership.

NRB alerts four CEOs including Prabhu Bank CEO Sherchan

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued alert notice against four chief executive officers (CEOs) including Prabhu Bank’s Ashok Sherchan for their alleged non-compliance with the withholding order of the central bank.

Along with Sherchan, CEOs of Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Kumari Bank Limited and Prime Commercial Bank have been alerted for their defiance.

NRB has penalized nine commercial banks for not abiding by the directives issued on various occasions.

Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has said he will not make any compromise with others on the issues of the protection of religion and cultures.

Nepal sees one new coronavirus case in past 24 hours

Nepal recorded a total of one new case of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Tuesday.

The confirmed case was detected through the RT-PCR method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 437 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

Unified Socialist prefers incumbent coalition for govt

Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN-Unified Socialist has decided to go for the incumbent coalition to form a new government.

The participants of the party’s Secretariat meeting held in Aloknagar- Kathmandu, on Tuesday, concluded that the incumbent five-party alliance would get the majority to form the government at federal and province level.
