Govt bans sale and consumption of alcohol in view of elections



KATHMANDU: The government has banned sale and consumption of alcohol all across the country as the election of the federal and provincial level are scheduled to kick off from Sunday.

According to the decision of the Election Commission (EC), the government has prohibited sale and consumption of alcohol from Thursday night.

The government has urged all the election officers and security personnel to strictly implement the government’s decision and urged the business not to sell alcohol until the vote count is successfully concluded.
