Laxmi Bank signs “Letter of Cooperation” with USAID Trade and Competitiveness

KATHMANDU: Laxmi Bank has signed Letter of Cooperation with USAID Trade and Competitiveness activity with the common goal to increase availability of and access to financial products and services for micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) in a sustainable manner, especially in tourism, agriculture, and digital services.

Issuing a press statement, the bank informed that the four years of partnership is expected to cross-share organizational strengths, experience, technologies, methodologies, and resources to pursue for these common goals.

In a signing ceremony held on November 15, 2022 at the corporate office of the Bank, the agreement was signed by Ajaya Bikram Shah, CEO of Laxmi Bank, and Agnes Luz, Chief of Party of the activity.

USAID Trade and Competitiveness is a five-year activity that aims to chart a new path of growth for the Nepali economy as it recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The activity helps Nepal capitalize on global integration by diversifying its economy toward higher quality and value exports, fostering sustainable job growth and income-generating opportunities for those previously left behind by economic growth, and creating greater sustainability and resiliency.

With the vision to become the Bank of choice for a growing, vibrant Nepal – reaching and enriching households, businesses and communities, Laxmi Bank has been providing its services through 143 branches across 50 districts, 5 hospital service counters, 13 extension counters, and 177 ATMs.
