Rabi Lamichhane alleges “elements” of trying to defame and demoralize him

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party and candidate for Chitwan Constituency-2, has accused some “elements” who are hell-bent on defaming and demoralizing him by raising various issues.

Clarifying about his citizenship and the complaint filed against him at the Election Commission on Tuesday demanding cancellation of his candidature, Rabi said, “I have already clarified my position on my citizenship four years ago.”

Clarifying about the complaints, he said that he is being attacked both physically and digitally.

“I am sure November 20 would be the right time to give a befitting response to those who are trying to demoralize me,” he said.

A complaint was filed at the EC saying that Lamichhane’s candidature should be canceled because he has not renounced his Nepalese citizenship after acquiring the citizenship of a foreign country.
