Natural disaster claims 69 people in two months



KATHMANDU: As may as 69 people have died of natural disasters in the last two months.  According to the record provided by Disaster Management Division of Nepal Police, a total of 343 people sustained injuries and two went missing during the period.

Fire claimed four people, lightning  killed 23, animals killed seven, natural disaster killed four, windstorm killed eight, and 13 died of high altitude, said the record.

Likewise, fire destroyed property worth Rs 99,3491,000 in the last two months, floods caused a loss of Rs 19,700,000 and landslide destroyed property worth Rs 1,345,000.

In 2018, 388 people had died while 305 people sustained injuries and 10 went missing in the period of two months due to natural disasters (April 14 to June 14) in 2018.
