Balgopaleshwor Temple in Rani Pokhari to remain open on Bhai Tika

KATHMANDU: The Balgopaleshwor Temple inside the Rani Pokhari (pond) in Kathmandu this year will remain open on the day of Bhai Tika, the last day of the five-day Tihar festival.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has carried out all preparations to open the Temple from Thursday morning on Bhai Tika, which is observed on the second day of the waxing moon of the month of Kattik as per the lunar calendar.

The Temple is opened only once a year on Bhai Tika.

Devotees could pray and worship in the temple from dawn to dusk on Thursday, KMC spokesperson Nabin Manandhar said today.

Also, the Temple attracts those not having brothers or sisters who visit the Temple and receive Bhai Tika.
