KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand asserted that the incumbent government had accorded topmost priority to the security system of the country.
Minister Khand said that the government had further strengthened the security of the country amid the limited resources. Khand reiterated,” The government has always accorded topmost priority to security. We will further streamline it in the coming days.”
He lauded the role of the security agencies in disaster response efforts apart from discharging their regular duties to maintain law and order.
According to him, the incumbent government was aspiring to hold Provincial Assembly and House of Representatives elections on the same day and in a single go (November 20 this year) just like the local-level election on May 13 this year.
He instructed the security agencies to remain on high alert regarding security concerns and threats during the upcoming election.
The Minister opined that the seminar on security had enabled the environment to hold the twin elections on the same day.
