Those deprived of tickets now will get plenty of opportunities once coalition wins elections: Prachanda

CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that if the ruling coalition gets a majority, leaders who did not tickets now will get various opportunities.

Addressing a program of the ruling coalition held in Biratnagar on Saturday, he said that if the ruling coalition wins and forms the majority government, those deprived of opportunities for November 20 election will get opportunities of political appointments, appointments to constitutional commissions and ambassadorial appointments.

“What I want to appeal to all my friends is to see if the coalition wins and the majority comes and forms the government, then there will be opportunities,” he said, adding, “Those friends who are not satisfied due to seat sharing this time, do remember that if we win, there will be many opportunities but if we lose, it is going to be bad for all of us.”

Referring to Rawal and Bhusal, UML Chair Oli wonders if same old faces should always get opportunities

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that it is natural that some leaders did not get tickets to upcoming elections.

At a party program organized in Lalitpur on Saturday, referring to Rawal and Bhusal, without naming them, Oli said some leaders were not given tickets this time as they have had enough opportunities within the party for long and had never spoken a word in favor of the party.

Oli clarified that it is natural for those enjoying power, public positions and privileges since 2048 BS to not get tickets this time as he believed that others should also should get opportunities.

Ruling alliance for protection of constitution: Maoist leader Gurung

General-Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Dev Prasad Gurung, has said the ruling alliance was formed for the protection of the constitution and economic development of the country.

At a program organized at Samakhusi, in Kathmandu, today, leader Gurung reiterated that the alliance was for safeguarding the nationality and democracy. “It is necessary to make the alliance-member parties victorious in the election for the protection of nationality, democracy and constitution”, he added.

Also the election candidate of House of Representatives member from the ruling alliance from Lamjung, General-Secretary Gurung mentioned that the alliance is in the campaign of good-governance by ending corruption.

Nepal sees 43 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

Nepal recorded a total of 43 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Saturday.

All of the confirmed cases were detected through the RT-PCR method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 798 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

As many as 435 samples were tested through RT-PCR method and 363 through Antigen method.

PM Deuba claims coalition partners will form govt after polls

Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the coalition parties will form a government after the elections.

Addressing a joint meeting of the democratic-left alliance in Biratnagar on Saturday, Deuba claimed that the coalition parties would form the government after the elections since the alliance was formed to protect the inclusive constitution.

Stating that there should be no confusion among the cadres, he said that he would cast his vote on symbols of tree, pen and sickle and hammer inside a circle.

Nepal-India border to remain closed for 72 hours on poll day

Nepal-India border in Kanchanpur and Kailali districts will remain close for 72 hours during the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly slated for  November 20.

A meeting of the officials of Nepal and India held at Rudrapur of Udhyam Singh district, Uttarakhand, India, on Friday decided to close the border.

Kailali Chief District Officer Kiran Thapa informed that India had agreed to cooperate by closing the border during the election to create a peaceful environment in Nepal.

He added that the agreement was made to close the international border 24 hours before the Election Day. The border will open after the conclusion of the election.

NA organizes various programs on UN establishment day

The Nepali Army organized various programs focusing ‘Solidarity in International Peace and Stability’ today (Saturday) on the establishment Day of the United Nations.
